Adjunct Instructors – Chemistry
This position reports to the Chair of Physical & Biological Sciences Department and the Dean of Arts & Sciences.

Appointment Period:

One academic semester

Responsibilities: Adjuncts are needed to teach Chemistry lectures and labs.

Specific Duties:
  1. Conducting all assigned class meetings in a timely and prepared way
  2. Thorough and accurate correction of assignments, providing appropriate constructive feedback
  3. Prompt return of corrected work
  4. Providing guidance and support to students
  5. Reporting student grades and attendance
  6. Replying to email communication from students and colleagues promptly
  7. Enforcing all administration policies and rules governing students
  8. Maintaining accurate and complete student records
  9. Be committed to the implementation of the philosophy and conceptual frame-work of Rhodes State College and the Division of Arts & Sciences
  10. Other instructional or academic duties as assigned


Major Work Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Chemistry is preferred. Appplicants with a Master's in a closely related fields with at least 18 semester hours (or the quarterly equivalent) of graduate courses in Chemistry are also eligible. Previous teaching experience at the two-year and/or four-year college level is preferred. Ability to interact positively with students and colleagues is essential. Must be committed to the two year college mission and quality instruction.

Salary: Commensurate with education and academic experience.
