Instructor Mathematics
This position reports to the Coordinator, Math & Physical Sciences and Chair, Engineering Technology and Math & Physical Sciences.

Appointment Period:

Annually renewable, 9-month appointment

Responsibilities: Responsibilities involve full-time teaching of a range of mathematics courses. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Specific Duties:
  1. Teach mathematics courses ranging from pre-algebra to calculus (including Statistics) with a typical load of 16 hours per semester. Other teaching assignments may include day, evening and/or weekend.
  2. Provide 10 office hours per week for student advising, curriculum development, online course development/delivery, textbook review/selection and assessment activities.
  3. Provide professional and community service. Includes attending faculty and curriculum meetings, participation in professional development, mentoring adjunct instructors, serving on campus committees, and community activities.
  4. Foster an atmosphere of inclusiveness and support for our diverse student population.
  5. Be committed to implementation of the philosophy and conceptual framework of the Division of Technology & Liberal Studies.
  6. Perform other similar duties as required.


Major Work Qualifications: Requires a Master’s degree in mathematics or related area with at least eighteen semester hours (or the quarterly equivalent) of graduate courses in a mathematics. Ability to interact positively with students and colleagues is essential. Must be committed to the two year college mission and quality instruction. Previous teaching experience at a two-year college level is preferred.
