YOUR NEXT STEP AS A GRADUATE IS WRAP UP DAY: April 21, 2020!
- On graduation day, graduates are required to be at the Civic Center North Hall at 12:30 p.m.
to receive their seat assignment and rehearse processional.
Do not bring purses, cameras, book bags, or packages – the
Civic Center does not provide storage.
- Wear comfortable but appropriate clothing under your gown. We suggest
dark pants/skirts with dark shoes. Women should consider wearing flat shoes for safety and comfort.
Be advised, there are several steps leading to the stage.
- Caps and gowns are available at the Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore for $54
plus tax. Keep gown free of wrinkles.
- Graduates needing special arrangements (i.e. hearing impaired, vision impaired,
wheelchair access, etc.) should contact Rhodes State College Accommodative Services at
419-995-8009.
GRADUATES SERVING OR HAVE SERVED IN THE U.S. MILITARY
- Rhodes State will recognize graduates who are serving or have served in the U.S.
military. To receive the red, white and blue cord to wear, bring your DD214 or NOBE
to the Veteran’s Certifying Official located in the Public
Service Building, Rm. 216.
- As a courtesy to all guests, please plan to stay for the entire ceremony.
GRADUATING WITH HONORS
Honor graduates received a gold-colored honor cord at the Academic Awards Ceremony in
March to wear at Graduation, Academic awards are based upon the following GPA: as of the end of Fall Semester
- 3.5 to 3.94 - Gold Honors Cord
- 3.95 and above - Medallion
HONOR SOCIETIES
Each Honor Society has its own induction ceremony normally in the spring. Eligible
students will be contacted by the appropriate Society. The individual honor societies
are as follows:
- Phi Theta Kappa, a National Community, Technical, and Junior College Honorary
Society, symbolized by a gold stole with blue lettering.
- Alpha Beta Gamma, a National Two-Year Business Honorary Society, symbolized by a
gold stole and tassel.
- Sigma Phi Alpha, a National Dental Hygiene Honorary Society, symbolized by a
white stole with gold lettering.
- Tau Alpha Pi, an Engineering Technologies Honorary Society, symbolized
by a gold pin.
- Lambda Nu, a National Radiological Sciences Honorary Society, symbolized by
a gold stole with maroon emblem.
- Lambda Beta, a National Respiratory Care Honorary Society symbolized
by a green sash.
- Alpha Delta Nu, a National Two-Year Nursing Honor Society, symbolized by
an apricot cord and pin.
- Tau Upsilon Alpha, a National Human Service Honorary Society, symbolized by a medallion on a gold and royel blue ribbon.
